Why I Love Photographing Same-Sex & LGBTQ+ Weddings in Toronto
If you’ve spent five minutes on my blog, you already know one thing: I love photographing same-sex weddings. Not just because of the fashion, the energy (unmatched), or the dance floors (always wild). I love them because they’re full of real emotion, intentional love, and an overwhelming sense of celebration that’s impossible to fake.
There’s something deeply powerful about witnessing two people who have fought through social pressure, family dynamics, and maybe even personal doubt — finally standing in front of their people, saying “this is who I love.” That? That hits different. Every time.
A Safe, Inclusive Space — Always
I’ve been lucky to photograph so many LGBTQ+ couples over the years, and from the very beginning, it’s been important to me that every couple feels seen, safe, and celebrated in front of my lens.
Whether you’re planning a big wedding, a backyard elopement, or an engagement session just for you — I’m here for it. There are no assumptions, no awkward poses, and no judgment. Just real connection, real moments, and a hell of a lot of fun.
If you’re looking for a photographer who understands that love doesn’t fit in a box, you’re in the right place.
Why Same-Sex Weddings Are So Damn Special
Let’s talk about the vibe. Because same-sex weddings hit different.
✅ The people who are there? They’re really there. No random plus-ones or distant relatives just checking off a tradition. The guests at same-sex weddings show up fully present — hyping you up, crying with you, cheering when you kiss. It’s pure support.
✅ The energy? Electric. There’s often this blend of relief and celebration — like, we made it. You can feel that in the room.
✅ The couples? Always themselves. From custom suits to barefoot vows, to private first looks in the forest or under the Toronto skyline — it’s always personal, always honest.
A Few of My Favourite Same-Sex Weddings & Sessions:
Want to see what I mean? Here are some of my favourite LGBTQ+ weddings and engagement shoots I’ve had the honour to photograph:
• 🌊 Christopher & Luilson’s sunset wedding at Argonaut Rowing Club — complete with Brazilian flair and carnival vibes.
• 🌇 Adam & Geoff’s summer wedding — golden hour portraits by the lake and an unforgettable dance floor.
• 🌿 Rachel & Dominika’s romantic wedding at the Millcroft Inn — intimate, heartfelt, and full of joy.
• 📍 Hubert & Vince’s engagement in Port Credit — sunset, sneakers, and real connection.
• 🌳 Adam & Geoff’s moody forest session — candid, romantic, and full of texture.
• 🌊 Joe & Glen’s Drake Devonshire wedding — a perfect mix of style and sentiment by the lake.
• 🌆 Downtown love with Dominic & Michael — a modern love story told through quiet moments and city light.
• 🌅 Humber Bay Park engagement — skyline views and so much love.
Love is Love — But Representation Matters
This isn’t just about pretty photos. It’s about visibility. It’s about showing future LGBTQ+ couples that they deserve to be celebrated, featured, and remembered just as much as anyone else. That their wedding can look exactly how they want it to. That they can trust their photographer to capture who they really are.
If you’re reading this and wondering if I’d be the right fit for your day — let’s talk.
Whether it’s your engagement, your wedding, or just a session to celebrate your story — I’d be honoured to help tell it.

The wedding season of 2024 came a bit later than usual for us, but it was so perfect to have the first wedding of the season been on spring. Everything was green and with a lot of flowers at The Millcroft Inn, matching perfectly with Dominika and Rachel pride wedding theme.
I had to force myself to stop shooting at Port Credit Memorial Park—I could have spent the whole day there! But we had other fantastic locations lined up, each offering its own charming and romantic vibe.
A cozy, intimate celebration at Drake Devonshire filled with joy, laughter, and lakeside charm. Joe and Glen’s wedding was a perfect blend of modern elegance and heartfelt connection — with every candid moment reflecting the deep love they share.
