Love Is Love | Dominic & Michael’s Downtown Toronto Wedding
Some weddings don’t need big stages or huge crowds to feel unforgettable — they just need the right people and real connection. That’s exactly what Dominic and Michael’s intimate wedding was all about.
Held in downtown Toronto, this celebration was stylish, emotional, and personal. From the quiet morning moments to the tear-filled vows and cityscape portraits, their day felt like a beautiful mix of classic romance and unapologetic love.
(Check-out their engagement shoot here.) The countdown to their wedding was on!!
A Classy, Intimate LGBTQ+ Wedding in the Heart of Toronto
Dominic and Michael brought timeless style to their day — both in sharp tailored suits that matched the clean, modern aesthetic of the city spaces we explored. There was no over-the-top staging, no forced poses. Just two people who fully trusted the process and were all in on each other.
Their love spoke loudest in the small moments: holding hands during portraits, wiping away each other’s happy tears, and laughing mid-vows when the emotions caught up to them. That’s the good stuff — the in-between, unscripted moments I always chase.
Toronto City Backdrops That Just Hit Different
We wandered through some of Toronto’s quieter downtown pockets for portraits — concrete, lines, light flares, and those little architectural moments that make the city feel cinematic. When you pair that with two grooms who are madly in love and fully present? Yeah, magic happens.
These weren’t just couple portraits — they were moments of calm, reflection, and connection. It was like the whole city slowed down for them.
Why Representation Matters in Wedding Photography
Weddings like Dominic and Michael’s aren’t just beautiful — they’re important. Same-sex weddings deserve the same level of celebration, detail, and visibility as any other love story. That’s why I take so much pride in photographing LGBTQ+ couples in a way that feels authentic and free.
Their wedding day wasn’t about ticking off Pinterest trends — it was about capturing the way they felt, and showing other queer couples what’s possible when you get to celebrate your love your way.
Final Thoughts
Dominic and Michael, thank you for trusting me to tell your story. You reminded me why I do what I do — to document love that’s real, joyful, and full of heart.
If you’re planning a same-sex wedding in Toronto, whether it’s a big bash or an intimate celebration like this one, I’d love to connect and help you tell your story through images that last.

Joe & Glenn got ready together in the astounding Owner’s Suite, a luxurious space with a large private balcony and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario. When I arrived at the suite, Joe & Glenn’s babes of honor were downstairs getting their hair and makeup done, so I still had the guys to myself for a short bit. Since they hadn’t showered or shaved yet, I proposed shower shots. After just a few moments of consideration, they both excitedly jumped (literally) into the shower with lots of laughter and giggling. Note to self, jumping in the shower is as dangerous as they say – luckily, there were no injuries and just loads more laughter.
The charming Distillery District wedding of Tanya and Alex was a perfect combination of contemporary, vintage, rustic, and chic, a true reflection of this hip district found in the east-end of downtown Toronto. We always love shooting in the Distillery Distric, as the heritage buildings, combined with the modern art and sculptures that can be found all around the pedstrian-only streets and paths, make the perfect back-drop for wedding photography.
They got ready at Le Germain Hotel Toronto Maple Leaf Square in Downtown Toronto, a perfect place for photos. The hotel has an awesome shower that you could see through the balcony, lucky me, Adam and Geoff were down for some shower photos. With a cool couple and a perfect place, I did one of the sickest shower shots so far. (The top photo on this blog) :D
A little later in the morning, some of their friends joined at the hotel for some drinks and some help, more drinks than help lol. Once they were ready, we made our way to the streets of Downtown Toronto, right at the Maple Leaf Square, it was the perfect canvas for their couple portraits.
