Port Credit Memorial Park Creative Photos
The last time I shot at Port Credit in Mississauga, I was just starting out as a photographer—over 10 years ago. Back then, I was still learning the ropes, honing my craft, and figuring out how to capture the perfect shot. I was part of a mentorship program with a studio in Woodbridge that helped photographers like me gain real-world experience. One of those early opportunities was shooting a couple of big weddings, and Port Credit happened to be one of the locations.
At the time, I remember being overwhelmed during the couple portraits. The harsh midday sunshine was challenging to work with, and my understanding of lighting was still in its early stages. I felt nervous navigating the bridal party dynamics and unsure of myself in this beautiful but demanding setting.
Fast-forward to today, and the difference feels like night and day. Lighting, once a hurdle, has become my biggest inspiration—it’s the heartbeat of my photography. Managing a wedding party or family? That’s second nature to me now. I thrive on creating a relaxed and confident experience for every couple I work with.
Returning to Port Credit for Hubert and Vince’s sunset engagement session wasn’t just about capturing beautiful photos; it was also a full-circle moment for me. This location, with its stunning waterfront views and vibrant sunset skies, held meaning not just for the couple but also for my own journey as a photographer.
I was determined to create something unforgettable for Hubert and Vince. The golden-hour lighting, the connection between the two of them, and the peaceful charm of Port Credit all came together perfectly. It wasn’t just an engagement session—it was a celebration of love, growth, and the beauty of storytelling through photography.
Why Port Credit is Perfect for Engagement Photos
I love to do engagement photos in a location that is meaningful for the couple. It doesn’t matter where it is! It could be in your parent’s backyard playing hockey, like Alli and Greg did, or even in a college kitchen, the place where Megan and Cole met.
Some places where the couples choose to do their pre wedding photos can be a challenge, but the place where Hubert and Vince used to meet, it was a wonderland for me!
If you’re planning your engagement session or wedding portraits, Port Credit in Mississauga is a hidden gem. Here’s why:
1. Waterfront Vibes: The lakeside backdrop offers stunning views, perfect for creating timeless photos.
2. Golden Hour Glow: The sunset lighting here is next level, adding a warm, romantic feel to every shot.
3. Versatile Locations: From the marina to the parks and charming streets, there’s no shortage of amazing spots to work with.
If you’re looking for an engagement session location that’s both beautiful and meaningful, Port Credit is one of the best spots in the Greater Toronto Area.
Hubert and Vince, thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Your love and connection made this session unforgettable, and I can’t wait to capture more milestones in your story.

Port Credit Memorial Park: A Dream Location for Engagement Photos
I had to force myself to stop shooting at Port Credit Memorial Park—the setting was just that good! With its scenic waterfront views, lush greenery, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s the kind of place where you could spend an entire day capturing incredible moments. But Hubert and Vince had a full itinerary of other fantastic locations lined up, each offering its own unique charm and romantic vibe.
One of the highlights of the session was how effortlessly stylish Hubert and Vince looked at every spot. They brought along some vibrant, well-coordinated outfits that popped beautifully against the natural backdrops. By the water at Port Credit, their colourful ensembles added a layer of energy and personality to the photos, making each frame feel as dynamic and unique as their connection.
What stood out the most, though, was how natural and at ease they were in front of the camera. You’d think they’d been doing this for years! Their chemistry and comfort made my job a breeze, allowing us to create genuine and timeless memories together.
Whether it was the soft golden light at sunset or the quiet moments by the water, Port Credit Memorial Park gave us endless opportunities to capture something special. It’s a spot I can’t recommend enough for couples looking for a mix of scenic beauty and intimate vibes.
Golden Hour Magic at Port Credit
Golden hour never fails to deliver—it’s truly the most magical time of the day for photos. With Hubert and Vince rocking yet another fantastic outfit, we continued exploring the beauty of Port Credit, discovering stunning photo spots along the way. While the iconic Port Credit Lighthouse is a must-have backdrop, the area offers so many hidden gems that make for delightful surprises at every turn.
As we moved through the session, Hubert and Vince became even more relaxed in front of the camera. Their natural chemistry and growing ease allowed me to capture some incredibly sweet and authentic moments. It’s these candid interactions that really bring the photos to life.
If you’re planning a wedding, I can’t recommend doing an engagement or pre-wedding shoot enough. It’s not just about the amazing photos (although you’ll definitely get those!); it’s also a fantastic way to get comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, it helps me, as your photographer, understand how much direction you prefer, which makes everything flow more smoothly on your wedding day. Trust me, this is one wedding tip you’ll be glad you followed!
Ending the Day with a Personal Touch
As our shoot started to wind down, we decided to take a moment to grab a coffee. I always tell my couples that engagement sessions aren’t just about the photos—it’s about the experience. Spending time together, laughing, and making memories is just as important as capturing those memories.
What made this stop extra special was the fact that Vince used to manage that very Starbucks. It’s a place filled with meaning for him, so taking a few photos there added a deeply personal touch to the session. It was a reminder that no location is ever “too simple” or “too small” if it holds significance for you. Those are the places where your story shines the brightest.
For Hubert and Vince, this entire session wasn’t just about the picturesque settings or golden hour light—it was about capturing their story, their connection, and the little details that make their journey unique. From Port Credit’s iconic lighthouse to intimate moments over coffee, every location brought something special to their session.
Hubert and Vince, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these moments. Spending the evening with you was such a joy, and I loved seeing how your personalities and connection came through in every photo. I can’t wait to be there for your big day this summer at Carl’s Catering—it’s going to be absolutely incredible!

They got ready at Le Germain Hotel Toronto Maple Leaf Square in Downtown Toronto, a perfect place for photos. The hotel has an awesome shower that you could see through the balcony, lucky me, Adam and Geoff were down for some shower photos. With a cool couple and a perfect place, I did one of the sickest shower shots so far. (The top photo on this blog) :D
A little later in the morning, some of their friends joined at the hotel for some drinks and some help, more drinks than help lol. Once they were ready, we made our way to the streets of Downtown Toronto, right at the Maple Leaf Square, it was the perfect canvas for their couple portraits.
On our first consultation call, I felt like a were just having a casual chat with old friends, this is how I felt with Dominika and Rachel. It was so nice to hear their love story, and getting to know them just made me more exited for their wedding. And I didn’t even know if they would go with me as their wedding photographer, lol. I am so glad that they did. 😆
The wedding season of 2024 came a bit later than usual for us, but it was so perfect to have the first wedding of the season been on spring. Everything was green and with a lot of flowers at The Millcroft Inn, matching perfectly with Dominika and Rachel pride wedding theme.
Driving into Prince Edward County for the wedding of Joe & Glenn at the Drake Devonshire, I knew I was in for a treat. Prince Edward County is known for its wineries, an exciting art community, awesome restaurants and festivals, and gorgeous landscapes and waterfront views. The Drake Devonshire, an award-winning waterfront boutique hotel, perfectly captures the essence of Prince Edward County. It offers a modern take on the traditional country inns with incredible architectural design, unique artwork, and custom designed furniture; stunning lake views; and drinks and food menus that are absolutely out of this world. When you combine an amazing and fun-loving couple, such as Joe & Glenn, with a venue as quirky, romantic, and luxurious as the Drake Devonshire, the day is guaranteed to be remarkable.
