Winery Engagement Session
There’s just something about Niagara-on-the-Lake. The slower pace, the endless rows of vines, the soft breeze off Lake Ontario — it’s one of those places that just feels romantic. So when Emily and Manuel said they wanted a winery engagement session, we knew this was going to be special.
Why Konzelmann Estate Winery Was The Spot
While researching options, Konzelmann Estate Winery quickly caught our eye. It’s right along the lake, with a charming gazebo overlooking the water — and the kind of natural light that just hits different. But the real standout? Linda, the event coordinator. She made the whole process easy, welcoming, and fun — plus, their photography permits are surprisingly affordable, which is always a bonus.
As soon as we arrived, Linda gave us a quick tour of the grounds, showing us the best spots to shoot, and then gave us space to do our thing.
From Wine Cellar Mood to Sunset Glow
We started in the wine cellar, which honestly doesn’t sound like much at first glance — barrels and cement, right? But the second we stepped in, we saw the potential. The light, the texture, the quiet — it gave us some of our favourite, more intimate shots of the session.
From there, everything just kept getting better. The clean lines of the vineyard, the open space near the gazebo, and a view of Lake Ontario that gave us a perfect golden hour without a single distraction. Emily and Manuel were glowing — playful, connected, and totally in sync with each other. That energy, mixed with the relaxed vibe of the winery, made for one of those shoots that just flowed from start to finish.

Imagine standing a top of a mountain peak, surrounded by snow-peaked mountains that appear through occasional breaks in the clouds. The wind is furiously trying to unravel your hair and the cold stings your hands, but none of that matters. You are holding the hands of the love of your life, looking into their tear-filled eyes as they say their vows to you, promising to love you for the rest of their lives.
Diego and I love winter, albeit for very different reasons. Being an avid snowboarder, Diego loves the cold and the snow. Me, on the other hand, I’ve only started to learn snowboarding, and I’m not a fan of the cold and snow. I just love the holidays, family time, and the festive decorations everywhere. Last year, I introduced Diego to the awesomeness that are Christmas markets.
Do try to choose a location that is meaningful and special to you both as a couple. It could be where you first met, where you had your first date, or where you got engaged.
Do consider local spots you love to visit together, such as coffee shops, markets, or your favourite park to stroll in.
Do remember you can keep it simple and have your shoot done at home for cozy and relaxed photos.
