Wedding Celebration with All the Right Vibes
From the moment I met Andreea and Devin, I had a feeling this wedding was going to be different. They told me they were taking a school bus to their high school for portraits with their friends (who were also their bridal party), and getting married in a brewery. None of that screams traditional. But what I didn’t know was just how unforgettable this day would be.
Sure, the places were cool. But it was the people who made it one of my all-time favorite weddings. They were fun, loud, emotional, creative, and ready to party, and that energy showed in every single frame.
Getting Ready: Nostalgia, Colour, and Pure Fun
I started the morning with Leo, my second shooter, best friend, and bus buddy for the day. Andreea was getting ready at her friend’s house, the same place the whole group used to hang out after school. That alone made it special—but then the vibe in the room took it up another level.
The bridesmaids were helping each other into the most colourful, gorgeous dresses, and the energy was just electric. Laughter, music, inside jokes. These were not just wedding party vibes, these were lifelong best friends getting ready to celebrate one of their own.
Before Andreea put on her dress, I arranged a little surprise: a first look with her bridesmaids in the backyard. The moment she stepped out, reactions exploded. Hugs, happy tears, hype, it was emotional and loud and perfect.
We did a few portraits right there in the backyard, and that alone would’ve made for a beautiful morning. But then the school bus pulled up.
And not just any school bus, the classic yellow kind you see in movies. As a Brazilian, these buses have always felt cinematic to me. Getting to ride one, packed with music, laughter, champagne, and colour, was an experience all on its own. The girls were living it up on the way to Devin’s house, and I got some of my favorite candid moments from the whole day right there on the ride.
First Look & Portraits at the Family Home
When we pulled up to the family house, the guys were already there, buzzing with energy. Devin was ready, the crew was hype, and Andreea stepped off that school bus glowing.
They shared their first look in the backyard, surrounded by their people, and it was a beautiful pause in a day full of energy. Right after, we jumped into family portraits—photos with Grandma, sweet hugs with parents, and those beautifully candid, emotional connections that remind you what weddings are really about.
The whole vibe felt like one giant pre-party. And as soon as the portraits were done, we loaded everyone—bridesmaids, groomsmen, champagne, and all—back onto the school bus. And this time, it was next level. Loud, hilarious, a rolling dance floor.
Bridal Party Photos at Their High School
The next stop was Andreea and Devin’s old high school in Toronto, where their love story first began. As a Toronto wedding photographer, it is always special to photograph couples in places that are deeply meaningful, and this one hit home.
From the second we arrived, the vibe was next level. They popped champagne right in front of the school sign and the entire bridal party went wild. It felt like a celebration of everything they had been through together, a true reunion mixed with the excitement of what was coming next.
We wandered through the school grounds taking fun and candid bridal party portraits. From the front steps to the back field, every corner had a memory. Devin and the groomsmen climbed hills and cracked jokes while Andreea and her bridesmaids shared nonstop laughter. These were not just wedding portraits. They were moments of pure joy, revisiting old times and celebrating how far they had come.
These high school wedding photos were not about posing. They were about having fun, embracing nostalgia, and capturing the real connection between this couple and their closest friends. It is the kind of experience that turns a wedding day into something unforgettable and something worth reliving forever.
Creative Wedding Portraits at Amsterdam Brewery
Before the ceremony, we arrived at Amsterdam Brewery with just enough time to sneak in a round of creative portraits. And wow, this space was unreal.
If you’re planning a wedding in Toronto and want a venue that feels modern, stylish, and full of personality, Amsterdam Brewery delivers. The bold lighting, dramatic atmosphere, and iconic glowing BREWHALL sign gave us a dream backdrop for portraits that were anything but ordinary.
We explored every corner. From the bar to the barrels to the moody shadows and warm tones of the space, everything came together beautifully. Andreea and Devin were fully present and totally themselves. They laughed, kissed, clinked glasses, and let the moment lead. That kind of energy makes magic happen. We played with reflections, framed them in silhouette, and captured some of the most artistic and cinematic wedding portraits of the day.
If you’re into non-traditional wedding venues and want portraits that feel bold, modern, and real, this is the kind of setting that makes it all possible.
Colourful and Emotional Wedding Ceremony at Amsterdam Brewery
The ceremony took place inside the eclectic and vibrant Amsterdam Brewery, and it was everything Andreea and Devin had dreamed of. From the neon lights and bold artwork to the warm industrial vibe, the entire space felt like them, unique, creative, and full of soul.
Andreea walked down the aisle with both her parents, beaming with emotion as friends and family stood along the brewery’s polished concrete floor. Their ceremony setup was surrounded by art, glowing bulbs, and barrels wrapped in fresh florals, creating an unforgettable backdrop for their vows.
They laughed. They cried. They held each other’s hands with that kind of grip that says, “We are in this together.” Their personal vows had everyone tearing up. And when they were finally pronounced married, the whole room erupted with joy. It felt less like a formal event and more like a celebration of everything that made their relationship beautiful passion, laughter, and full-hearted love.
This was not your typical wedding venue, and that is exactly what made it magic.
Cocktail Hour & Family Photos
After the ceremony, guests flowed out to the covered tent area outside for cocktail hour. The sunset hit just right, and we took the opportunity to grab family portraits in that soft, golden light.
It was relaxed, candid, and beautiful. The perfect breath before the reception kicked into full gear.
Colourful, Emotional, One-of-a-Kind Reception
The reception was more like a massive celebration. No assigned seating. No head table. Just people standing, sitting, mingling, and soaking in the moment.
The speeches were unreal. Andreea’s dad was heartfelt and emotional. The bridesmaids did a joint speech that had everyone in stitches. I loved how every part of the evening was designed to create connection and keep the energy flowing. And when I say this party had energy, I mean it.
Cigar Portraits & A Cinematic End to the Night
Before the night wrapped, I asked Devin and his groomsmen if they were down to step outside for a few bold portraits. I set up a backlight and pulled out the cigars. Instantly, they looked like a rock band on a world tour poster.
Not to be left out, Andreea said, “I want one too.” And of course, we made it happen. Moody, colourful, dramatic. And real.
When I look back on this day, I feel lucky. This was a wedding that reminded me why I love what I do.
To Andreea and Devin, thank you. For your trust, your joy, your total commitment to doing this your way. You didn’t just plan a wedding. You created a memory that every single person there will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
This was one for the books.
