Liuna Station Wedding
Weather in Toronto can be so unpredictable, and this spring is no exception. It’s been hard to forecast whether it’s going to be warm or not, if it will rain, or when nature will decide to come out of hibernation and begin to bloom. Days when we expect rain, we get sunshine, and days when we expect sunshine, it rains. As wedding photographers in Toronto, we really have to be prepared for all scenarios, which means always having multiple umbrellas in the car, including a clear one for fun couple portraits in the rain, sunglasses, extra sweaters and jackets, and even sunscreen. Jeanine and Reza’s wedding was set in early May, which is an especially unpredictable time. We’ve had years when in early May everything was already green and lush, and other years when it seemed that spring was months away. This year, however, Jeanine and Reza lucked out big time!!!
The morning of Jeanine and Reza’s wedding, the sun was shining and warm in Hamilton, absolutely perfect spring wedding weather! Both Reza and Jeanine were bubbly with excitement as they were getting ready, eager to see each other and say their I Do’s. Their friends were also buzzing with excitement as they got ready and helped one another polish off their looks. Even Jeanine and Reza’s fur babies, who were the official flower girl and ring bearer, seemed all ready to walk down the aisle to see their parents get married.
Before heading over to Liuna Station, Jeanine and Reza’s venue for their ceremony and reception, we stopped by Bayfront Park, where Reza was waiting to see Jeanine for the first time, looking radiant in her wedding dress! After a quick yet very sweet first look, we gathered the bridal party for their photos, and then Jeanine and Reza for their couple portraits, and it couldn’t have been any prettier!! The sky was blue, the grass was green, and we were graced by beautiful cherry blossom trees which were in peek bloom! Normally, couples have to fight the crowds at High Park in Toronto to get shots of cherry blossoms, but Jeanine and Reza had a whole path lined with cherry blossoms all to themselves for their couple portraits, and they looked stunning walking hand-in-hand together in between the blooming trees.
After enjoying the spring weather at Bayfront Park, it was time to drive over to Liuna Station where guests were already gathering to see Jeanine and Reza say their vows. When we first met Jeanine and Reza, Jeanine told us all about how beautiful the venue’s architecture and decor was, and wow, it truely was! So much attention to detail, inside and out! Capturing the ceremony in the main hall of the venue was astounding, with all the warm lights, rich colors, and gold accents, it looked regal!
After their ceremony, and a polaroid filled cocktail hour, everyone went inside the hall for dinner and dancing. Inside the hall, it was clear how much heart went into decorating the room with personal touches, from the really cool table numbers, to the unique wedding “cake”, which were actually traditional Brazilian wedding cookies called Bem Casados. How fun and unique!
To kick off the post-dinner celebrations, the guests were treated to a phenomenal performance by Toronto’s Samba dancers Tropicana Queens, who are amazing at getting guests off their seats and partying!! And as we were leaving the party that night, exhausted from the high energy celebrations at Jeanine and Reza’s wedding, the dancing was still going strong. Always a great sign of a successful and happy wedding! Jeanine and Reza, we couldn’t be happier to have been able to capture your special day, and cannot wait to hear more news of your growing family! Beijos!!
