Fire Station Engagement Session
When your engagement shoot location includes sirens, fire poles, and shiny red trucks… you know it’s going to be a fun one.
We always tell our couples — your engagement session should mean something. Sure, there are lots of great photo spots around Toronto, but the most memorable sessions happen when we go somewhere personal. Somewhere that tells a piece of your story. For Donna and Daneil, that meant one thing: the Dundas community fire station, where Daneil works as a firefighter.
We couldn’t say yes fast enough. 🔥
First Responders, First Laughs
The plan was to start at the station, but — in true firefighter fashion — just as we were about to begin, the fire alarms went off. Within seconds, the crew jumped into action and rolled out of the station with sirens blazing.
No big deal — just part of the story.
While we waited for the crew (and the truck) to return, we took a stroll through downtown Dundas, which turned out to be a beautiful surprise. Old buildings, unique homes, and small-town charm everywhere we turned — it would’ve been easy to shoot the whole session there. But let’s be real… the fire station was calling us back.
Back at the Station (and On the Truck)
When we returned, the fire crew let us know it was a false alarm — which meant the truck was back, clean, and ready for its close-up. And we were ready to play.
Having the trucks in the background gave us everything — lines, reflections, bold colours, symmetry, and a sense of storytelling you just don’t get anywhere else. We climbed in and out of the trucks, turned on the lights, and captured moments that felt honest and very them.
Donna and Daneil made the entire shoot fun from start to finish — laughing, climbing, goofing around (yes, there was fire pole sliding), and giving us so much energy to work with.
Why We Love Shoots Like This
This was the kind of session that reminds us why we do what we do. It was personal. It was unique. And it was 100% them. From spontaneous street portraits to fire truck reflections, this was one of those evenings where everything just came together — even the false alarm added to the memory.

Scheduling a winter engagement shoot is always a little tricky - the conditions need to be just right! So many factors have to be taken into consideration, like is there going to be enough snow to capture the essence of a Canadian winter, or is it going to be too cold for comfort. It definitely takes a special couple, like Hema and Dileep, brave and committed, to rock a winter engagement shoot!
Trillium Park on Toronto’s waterfront is one of our favourite spots to shoot at within the city. With every passing season, it feels like the park is transformed – with the ever-changing blooms and seasonal colours, we never quite know what to expect when we arrive at Trillium. But between the varied green spaces, unique sculptures and architecture, the gorgeous lake views, and the stunning Toronto skyline in the background, we never get bored creating an experience and memories for our couples at Trillium Park.
try to choose a location that is meaningful and special to you both as a couple. It could be where you first met, where you had your first date, or where you got engaged.
Do consider local spots you love to visit together, such as coffee shops, markets, or your favourite park to stroll in.
Do remember you can keep it simple and have your shoot done at home for cozy and relaxed photos.
