Toronto Wedding with Tradition, Tears, and a Dance Floor That Did. Not. Quit.
There are weddings… and then there are Jewish weddings. And Julie & Yaniv’s celebration at The Avenue Banquet Hall? That one absolutely exploded with energy from the very beginning — and never slowed down.
Getting Ready: Laughter, Clippers, and Hype Vibes
The day started in the most personal way possible — Julie was getting ready at her dad’s barbershop, The Men’s Hairstylist, surrounded by her family and bridal party. There were laughs, little tears, and that excited energy that fills the room when you know something big is about to happen.
Meanwhile, Yaniv arrived at his sister’s home beaming. He was so clearly over-the-moon excited to marry Julie. As soon as his groomsmen showed up, there were loud cheers, big hugs, and that kind of chaotic love that makes for amazing candids. These guys weren’t holding anything back.
A First Look with ALL the Feels
Julie and Yaniv’s first look wasn’t a quiet, secluded moment — it was shared with everyone they love. Outside the barbershop, their families and full wedding party gathered to watch. When Yaniv turned around and saw Julie in her dress (from Best for Brides), he totally melted. There were happy tears, cheering, and such a genuine rush of emotion that even we had goosebumps behind the camera.
Portraits at Glendon College
Before heading to the ceremony, we made a stop at Glendon College for portraits. It was one of those super sunny days — hot, bright, and buzzing. But Julie, Yaniv, and their whole crew were such pros. They were patient, playful, and fully in the moment. (We may have had to wait our turn with a few other wedding parties, but it was totally worth it.)
The architecture at Glendon always delivers, and these two looked like magic among the stone archways and tall trees.
Ceremony Under the Chuppah
Back at The Avenue Banquet Hall, we jumped straight into preparations for the traditional Jewish ceremony. Julie and Yaniv signed their Ketubah — a symbolic marriage agreement — surrounded by their closest family and friends. There was a calm intimacy in that room, a pause before the energy ramped up again.
The ceremony itself took place under a beautifully decorated chuppah, packed shoulder to shoulder with their loved ones. It was tight, emotional, and so full of meaning. One of my favourite parts? The breaking of the glass. There are so many interpretations for that tradition, but the one that always sticks with me: that it symbolizes the fragility of human connection — and serves as a wish that this marriage will never break. Powerful stuff.
When Yaniv stomped the glass and everyone shouted “Mazal Tov!” — fireworks went off. No seriously, they had actual pyrotechnics. That’s when we knew the party was officially on.
That Dance Floor Energy Tho 🔥
The salad course hadn’t even been served before the dance floor was already packed. Thanks to the incredible live band and MC from The Party Crew, the Hora kicked off with wild energy. Chairs were flying, guests were being tossed into the air, and the joy was next-level. From little kids to great-grandmas, everyone was on their feet.
And us? You know we don’t sit out when the dance floor’s this good. I had my camera in one hand and was clapping to the beat with the other.
Julie & Yaniv — thank you for bringing us into a day that was emotional, hilarious, heartfelt, and so, so alive. You two threw one unforgettable celebration, and it was an absolute honour to capture it.
Mazal Tov!

I am always excited when I have a lot of time in the morning with the bride and the bridal party. That allows me to capture not only the traditional wedding photos, like, the wedding details, the bride putting the wedding dress, the photos with bridal party, etc. But also gives me time to capture what is the most important part of the day for me, the real interaction between people. Those candid moments that are going to tell the real story about the day.
