A chill, stylish day with heartfelt vibes and some of the best food in the city
There’s something special about a wedding at Archeo in Toronto’s Distillery District. The mix of historic brick buildings, warm string lights, and unreal food makes it one of our absolute favourite venues to shoot. So when Salar & Heather reached out and told us they were planning a summer wedding there? We were all in.
Getting Ready in Style: The Ritz and The Royal York
Heather spent her morning at the Fairmont Royal York, tucked into one of the classic suites as hair and makeup wrapped up. There’s always a buzz on a wedding morning — but this one had an extra dose of calm, intentional energy. The excitement was there, but she was also fully enjoying every second of it.
Meanwhile, Salar was getting ready across the city at The Ritz, surrounded by family. It was one of those peaceful, happy mornings where everyone’s just vibing and soaking it in. You could tell he was just so ready to see Heather and start this next chapter.
Ceremony at Archeo — Cozy, Beautiful, and All the Feels
The ceremony took place right at Archeo, one of those spaces that doesn’t need much to feel special. Between the exposed brick, hanging lights, and natural charm of the Distillery backdrop, it was already perfect. And on this cloudy summer day, the soft light made everything glow — including our couple.
They said their vows in front of family and friends, and the emotions were real. Happy tears. Big smiles. It felt warm, honest, and deeply personal.
Portraits in the Heart of the Distillery District
After the ceremony, we snuck away with Heather and Salar for a few portraits around the cobblestone streets of the Distillery District. Even on cloudy days (actually, especially on cloudy days), the soft, even light makes the photos feel extra dreamy.
We wandered through all the best spots — brick alleys, iron doors, and the soft glow of string lights overhead. Just enough time to let them breathe, laugh, and soak it all in before heading back for the party.
A Reception Full of Great Speeches, Good Wine, and Real Connection
Once everyone was seated, the speeches kicked off — and I’m not even kidding, each one hit differently. Funny, heartfelt, full of love. The kind of toasts that make you feel like you really know the couple. And when it comes to capturing emotion? This is our sweet spot.
The Archeo team brought out the food (which, by the way, is always next-level), the wine kept flowing, and by the time the music started, everyone was more than ready to hit the dance floor. The vibe? Pure joy. It was a celebration, plain and simple — exactly how it should be.
Salar & Heather — thank you for letting us be part of your day. You two planned a wedding that was thoughtful, stylish, and full of love. And you picked the perfect venue to match it. We’re so happy we got to tell your story. 🤍

Award-Winning Moments at Archeo 🎉
Salar and Heather’s wedding was full of energy, joy, and raw emotion — the kind of day we live for. And speaking of moments we live for, we were beyond stoked when two candid images from this wedding were recognized by The Bride Association Awards 🏆
These aren’t posed portraits or styled shots. These are real moments.
One is the exchange of rings, captured from a dramatic low angle with perfect symmetry and exposure, framed by blue skies — a total blink-and-you-miss-it shot. The second is that pure, explosive happiness right after the ceremony: the couple walking out, hands outstretched, smiles lighting up the Distillery District. Unscripted. Undeniably joyful.
Capturing a candid award-winning photo isn’t just about luck — though let’s be honest, timing helps. What makes a moment award-worthy comes down to a few key things:
Exposure: You have to nail it, every time. There’s no “fix it in post” for blown-out skies or underexposed faces in fast-moving scenes.
Composition: Great candid photography tells a full story in one frame. Layered, balanced, interesting — no clutter, just emotion.
Timing: That exact fraction of a second when it all lines up — the light, the emotion, the hands, the angle.
Instinct and experience: Knowing when and where something is about to happen — and already having your camera up before it does.
Having an award-winning photographer doesn’t mean every photo will win a trophy (although hey, we’ll try 😄). What it does mean is that your moments are in the hands of someone who can anticipate, frame, and preserve them in the most beautiful way possible. Not because we’re chasing awards — but because we’re chasing truth, emotion, and real connection.

Two words that I never thought would go together as well as they do are in fact the perfect description for The Fermenting Cellar wedding of Stephanie & Reilly-James - Industrial Romantic. Distilleries are inherently not the most romantic of places, especially when compared to their counterparts, the Wineries, with their romantic couples’ getaways to vineyards where couples sample the most popular elixir of lovers.
The charming Distillery District wedding of Tanya and Alex was a perfect combination of contemporary, vintage, rustic, and chic, a true reflection of this hip district found in the east-end of downtown Toronto. We always love shooting in the Distillery Distric, as the heritage buildings, combined with the modern art and sculptures that can be found all around the pedstrian-only streets and paths, make the perfect back-drop for wedding photography.
There wasn’t a single dull moment at Simone and Angelo’s Berkeley Church wedding – the whole day was overflowing with friendship, laughter, and love. Simone and Angelo were always surrounded by their closest friends and family, who kept them laughing and smiling from early morning to the end of the party. The boys, childhood friends, were cracking jokes and mercilessly teasing each other while getting ready at the Grand Hotel and Suites
