The Loft Distillery District
Tanya and Alex’s wedding at The Loft in Toronto’s iconic Distillery District was a perfect blend of vintage charm, modern romance, and non-stop celebration. As our first wedding in this historic neighborhood, it was an unforgettable introduction to one of the city’s most photogenic and atmospheric venues.
Getting Ready at the Chelsea Hotel
The day began at the Chelsea Hotel in downtown Toronto — Canada’s largest hotel, though we didn’t realize that until we got a little lost trying to find the elevators! Alex was getting ready with his brother, who had flown in from Portugal, and their close bond was evident as they helped each other prepare. Tanya’s stepfather also joined, offering a helping hand with ties and adding to the warm, familial atmosphere.
Just a few doors down, Tanya was surrounded by her mom, aunt, and maid of honor. The room was filled with laughter and inside jokes, setting the tone for the joyful day ahead.
A Private First Look
Before heading to the ceremony, Tanya and Alex shared a private first look in a quiet courtyard beside the Chelsea Hotel. Alex waited nervously, and as Tanya approached and tapped his shoulder, the smiles that followed were pure magic.
Portraits in the Distillery District
We then made our way to the Distillery District, a pedestrian-only area known for its cobblestone streets, Victorian-era industrial architecture, and vibrant art installations. Despite the weekend crowds, Tanya and Alex strolled hand-in-hand, completely immersed in each other. Their genuine laughter and playful interactions made for some of our favorite portraits to date.
Ceremony & Reception at The Loft
The ceremony and reception were held at The Loft, a venue that perfectly complements the Distillery District’s historic charm. With warm lighting, bistro lights, and stunning chandeliers, the space felt intimate and inviting. The ceremony was heartfelt, and the reception was a lively celebration with guests dancing between courses and heartfelt speeches. Once the lights dimmed and DJ Scottify turned up the music, the dance floor was packed with energy and joy.
Tanya and Alex, thank you for trusting us to capture your special day and for welcoming us with open arms. Your wedding was not only a beautiful celebration but also marked the beginning of our love affair with the Distillery District.

Two words that I never thought would go together as well as they do are in fact the perfect description for The Fermenting Cellar wedding of Stephanie & Reilly-James - Industrial Romantic. Distilleries are inherently not the most romantic of places, especially when compared to their counterparts, the Wineries, with their romantic couples’ getaways to vineyards where couples sample the most popular elixir of lovers.
Salar and Heather contacted us to photograph their wedding ceremony that took place a few weeks ago. The venue they chose for their wedding was Archeo at Distillery District. This wasn't the first time I had photographed a wedding at Archeo, Heather and Salar could not have picked a better place for the special day, it’s one our favorite venue in Toronto, not only because of the Distillery District has so many spots for great photos, but Archeo has one of the best food and lovely people working at.
