Trail Hub Engagement
It has been a couple years since I have participated in the Toronto Bridal Show — and even longer since I have felt excited about a Wedding Show. But something was different about this January 2024 Toronto Bridal Show, and I had an AMAZING time! What was different? The people. The couples that I met in this wedding show were fantastic, fun, and my kind of people — among them, I met Christine and Stephen. How lucky am I to find such a cool couple?!
The Planning For The Engagement Shoot
Christine and Stephen’s wedding will be in the Fall, so we will get to experience those gorgeous Fall colours! And for now — we had an engagement shoot to plan.
I always advise my clients: the first decision to make regarding your engagement photos is which season you prefer for the shoot? And Christine already knew what she wanted, a snowy engagement shoot, so we needed to hurry — because the winter of 2023/24 was proving to be a year of very little snow. Even planning in advance, we didn’t have any snow around the city, so we needed another plan that still captured the magic of winter and the vibe they were looking for.
Right away, I remembered the perfect location — Trail Hub. Last summer, I went to visit Trail Hub, which had just opened up as a venue for weddings — and it’s an incredibly charming venue near the GTA, in Uxbridge. If you are planning to get married out of the city, with a breathtaking view, please take a look at Trail Hub. It is surrounded by nature — beautiful landscapes — and it offers a rustic but elevated setting for couples. It would provide the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony.
Engagement Photos At Trail Hub
Christine and Stephen engagement shoot was my first engagement shoot of the season, after a long winter doing product and corporate photos for Lake Design, I was eager to shoot couples again. On my drive to Trail Hub (which was an amazing drive in itself), I started to get inspired by the landscape and the beautiful lighting that was hitting the hills on the way there. As soon as I caught sight of the Trail hub's breathtaking view, any of the nerves I felt, melted away, making room for the creativity to flow.
When Christine arrived in her stunning saree and Stephen in his sharp suit, we jumped straight into the fun. I couldn’t hide my excitement during the shoot, the lines, the texture, and the colours inside of Trail Hub are very inspiring for someone who loves to be creative. Knowing that Christine loves symmetry, I kept this in mind and used this as a base for the first set of portraits, using all the remarkable architecture lines.
Check it out below! I am IN LOVE with how amazing these photos captured this couple so perfectly.
The Washroom Engagement Session
Have you heard about washroom engagement photos? Well, now you have 😆.
I fell in love with the washroom at Trail Hub, yes you heard it right, I did.
At the beginning of the shoot, as we are getting started, one of the things that I tell my couples is to trust me. Knowing that the photos were going to look amazing — with those floral blue walls — and the stunning light fixture by the sink, I had the perfect vision for it. Take a look below…
Snowy Engagement Photos
Of course, we couldn’t forget about the outdoor photos to show-off that incredible view! I was so proud of Christine for going through the cold and her patience as I kept saying: “just one more, just one more” 😅
As the sun was going down, and I want to use the unique fire pit that Trail Hub has outside. I wanted to include it somehow in our photoshoot, but in a creative way. When we arrived at the fire pit, Sharon — the business manager of Trail Hub — told me that the fire pit was something that photographers love to do photos with. When I heard that, my first thought was, “I need to create something that nobody else has yet,” and I think I did! You be the judge and check them out below:
The Sunset Photos
The sun was starting to disappear below the hills, which gave us a new romantic and peaceful mood to play with, as Christine and Stephen went to do an outfit change. I already had the perfect spot in mind for this last set. Trail Hub has beautiful string lights that we could incorporate into the shot, with the sunset, to create some beautiful, warm photos for the couple.
Christine and Stephen were freezing after the shoot, but lucky for them, Trail Hub has an incredible restaurant inside the venue called the Nest. Like all things at Trail Hub, it has a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It’s my next spot for a romantic dinner. You’re welcome, readers 😆
After this incredible experience with Christine and Stephen, I cannot wait for their wedding in October 🙌🏼
Thank you so much guys, you two were amazing 🥰
