Night Time Ontario Place Engagement Photos - Jess and Jay
Ontario Place Engagement Photos
Sometimes we meet special couples, some couples that just challenge us, some couples that want more than just the regular. Usually most of our couples are like that, but Jess and Jay just pushed that boundaries way way up, and I love that!!!
In the first meeting at their house, I knew from the beginning of our conversation that couple was a little different.
I learned with the years that the times when I can create the most, is when I have high expectation from my clients, maybe that’s the reason why this engagement shoot is one of my favorites.
I frequently tell my clients that I don’t like to do the same thing over and over again, even when I go to the same spots. In this case, I’ve done multiple shoots at Ontario Place and Trillum Park, but we never started the shoot that late. Not because of traffic or anything, but because Jason and Jess wanted to start at that time. They want to get the end of the sunset, and go through the night.
I loved that idea, first because it is something that I have never done before, and also because I go crazy when I get the opportunity to create in the dark. Basically, that was a wonderland for me.
Sunset at Ontario Place
We got there just at the right time, the sun was almost hidden behind the city, which made those mix of yellows, oranges and red just perfect.
We started at the edge of Ontario Place, where we had a great view of the sunset. On that spot, was the first time that I fell during a shoot, to be honest, took way too long for that to happen lol. But nothing that could stop us from keep going.
With our backdrop just getting darker and darker, we made our way to Trillium park, at least we tried, lol. We didn't make very far, we found so many little lights spots, so many things that we could play with, we spent almost our whole time at the same area. I could spend the whole night there.
Years back, we did a beautiful winter engagement shoot with Madeline and Corey at Ontario Place, they were having the Winter Light Exhibition, but this time was a totally different vibe.
Puente de Luz Engagement Photos
Right after we went downtown Toronto, where we could have a nice view of the CN Tower at night, and I had the perfect spot for that, the Puente de Luz. That was a spot that I saw for a long time and never had a chance to shoot there, until that day.
Puente de Luz has a very nice architecture, and I knew that with the right lighting, that bridge would become magic, and this was what happened. With some Atmosphere Aerosol and the Magmod gels, was all I needed to create something magical and dramatic, exactly the way that Jess and Jay wanted.
Jess and Jay, thank you so much for put such challenge in my way. I will always be thankful for the opportunity.
