A Hidden Gem Near Toronto: Erin Estate
Even after photographing weddings all over Toronto and the GTA for years, I still stumble across venues that blow me away — and Erin Estate was absolutely one of them. Tucked away in the countryside and surrounded by towering evergreens, this property offers the perfect mix of rustic charm, forest magic, and polished luxury. From the first moment we arrived, I knew this day would be something special.
Getting Ready at Erin Estate’s Main House
Sarah and Matt chose to stay on-site the night before their wedding, making full use of Erin Estate’s stunning main house. This decision gave them a relaxed, intimate start to the day. While some of the girls got their makeup done by the amazing team at ModernMakeup, others were sipping coffee on the back deck, soaking in the peaceful forest view.
I always love when couples slow down and enjoy their morning — it sets the tone for the entire day. The energy here was calm, joyful, and full of love. With the extra time, I had a chance to get creative with detail shots, like hanging Sarah’s Willowby by Watters gown outside the house and lighting it dramatically with flash. That combination of modern and romantic? It was a vibe.
A First Look with Forest Fairytale Vibes
Sarah and Matt’s first look took place at the front of the estate, where the architectural lines of the house met a golden wash of morning light through the trees. We didn’t have to go far — every inch of Erin Estate is a photo backdrop waiting to happen. Stone steps, wood decks, ivy-covered walls… It all felt like something out of a storybook.
Their reactions during the first look? Pure gold. It was sweet, emotional, and full of excitement for the day ahead.
A Ceremony in the Woods (Yes, It’s as Magical as It Sounds)
Let’s talk about Erin Estate’s forest ceremony space.
The venue’s woodland ceremony location is like stepping into a fairytale. A winding bridge crosses over a small creek, guiding guests into a natural amphitheater surrounded by pine trees. It’s quiet. Peaceful. Powerful. Watching Sarah walk down that path through the trees was one of those moments that felt almost cinematic — like the forest was holding its breath.
Family Portraits & Sunset Light at the Back Lawn
After the ceremony, we stayed close to the main house for family photos. The soft light on the back lawn, framed by gardens and trees, gave us perfect conditions for a mix of formal and candid group shots. I always recommend keeping family photos close to the ceremony space when possible — it saves so much time, especially when the light is this good.
A Reception Full of Laughs, Love & a Bonfire Sunset
The reception was held in Erin Estate’s charming main hall — a warm, inviting space that felt intimate and open at the same time. As the speeches rolled in, so did the laughter and tears. Sarah and Matt’s guests clearly adore them — and their reactions during the heartfelt toasts made for some of my favorite candids of the night.
But the best part?
**The bonfire at sunset.**🔥
As the sun dipped below the trees, we snuck outside to the fire pit, just the three of us, and created some of my favorite portraits of the day. That mix of golden light, cozy flames, and two people soaking in the moment? It’s what wedding photography dreams are made of.
Final Thoughts
Sarah and Matt — thank you for bringing us into this magical day at Erin Estate. Your joy, your calm energy, and your trust gave us the space to create something truly beautiful.

I am a big fan of new year’s eve wedding, specially in cold weather.
Couple years back I did photograph my first new year’s eve wedding at Horseshoe Valley for Rosie and Shayne’s wedding , and it was a lot fun.At this time was even more special, I received the honor to do a destination wedding in Philadelphia.I have no idea how Liz and Erik found me in Toronto, but luckily, they did :)
The wedding of Keri and Jeremy at Archeo in the Distillery District was one of the sweetest, most emotional, and fun weddings we’ve been lucky enough to capture. You guys already know how much we love criers at weddings, and while at most weddings we hope for maybe the bride or the parents of the couple to cry a little (big bonus if the groom gives us a tear or two), we could have never expected the outpour of emotion that we witnessed at Keri & Jeremy’s Archeo wedding.
We were all watching the weather very closely the days leading up to Liz and Cesar’s wedding at Ball’s Falls Conservation area. The forecast promised rain…A LOT of rain. Liz and Cesar were hoping for a romantic outdoor ceremony in the courtyard of the Glen Elgin Room at the Center for Conservation, and Diego and I were super excited to go exploring Ball’s Falls and the historic village with them, but that was all dependent on the weather. As we drove to Niagara on the morning of their wedding, any hope for rain-free weather was gone. It rained and it rained and it rained the whole drive there, But, as the famous saying goes
