It’s no secret — I’m a little obsessed with Kelso Conservation Area. This was my third engagement shoot there in under a year, and every time feels like the first. The light hits differently, the colours change with the season, and there’s always a new spot to explore. I knew this fall session with Jordana and Jeremy was going to be something special.
Fall Vibes + Photo Nerd Excitement = Magic
We showed up early to scout the area (yup, still excited after three times). And every five steps we were like: “Ooooh, that could be a shot!” Staircases draped in golden leaves, quiet trails, moody bridges, overgrown buildings, puddles that were basically art — this place is full of possibilities.
When Jordana and Jeremy arrived, the energy doubled. These two? Pure joy. They were laughing, joking, cuddling — all I had to do was keep up. They brought great energy and even better outfits. Jordana’s soft pink sweater and Jeremy’s cool-toned layers popped against the fiery fall backdrop.
That Iconic Puddle Shot
I know what you’re thinking — “A puddle? Really?”
But when you’ve got a still, leaf-filled puddle, a pink sweater, a bold blue sky, and zero wind… yeah, the puddle shot becomes an art piece.
We captured this incredible reflection photo that became one of my personal favourites. (Yes, I lost it a little at the moment. Can you blame me?) It just clicked — everything lined up. And it’s the kind of moment you can’t plan for, only prepare to catch.
The Almost-Lake Moment
Now, if you’ve seen Kyla & Riley’s Kelso engagement session, you know they jumped right into the lake at sunset — full send. It was iconic.
Jordana was game to follow in their footsteps, but it was late October and getting colder by the minute. She was mentally ready for a polar dip… Jeremy, not so much 😂 And honestly? I wasn’t either.
So we pivoted. Instead of lake shots, we wandered deeper into the park — moody skies overhead, colourful leaves underfoot, and the whole place to ourselves. We got creative with reflections, light, and shadow. And just when we thought we could keep going all night… we got kicked out by a park ranger. Worth it.
From Kelso to Guild Inn Estate
Working with Jordana and Jeremy wasn’t just fun — it was effortless. And when their wedding day came around? Pure joy, all over again.

Let me tell you, Diego and I are not morning people. Not even a tiny bit. But when an amazingly cool couple, like Christine and Cesar, tells us they want to do a sunrise engagement shoot, we are out of bed and on site long before the couple has arrived. Unlike sunset engagement shoots, where we can take our time enjoying the sunset colours, the peak moments of a sunrise come and go in what feels like a few seconds, so we have to be prepared with ideas to take advantage of every beautiful moment.
One of my favourite things about living in Canada is experiencing the four seasons and everything they have to offer. It’s always so much fun to see how some of our favourite spots change with the seasons so we were beyond excited when Kyla and Riley chose Kelso Conservation Area for their summer engagement shoot. The last time we were at Kelso Conservation Area it was for Marianne and Adam’s fall engagement session. It was cold and gloomy, all the trees and leaves covering the ground were a deep yellow, orange, and red, and there were families all around enjoying the colourful foliage before a late fall storm would leave all the trees bare.
Guys, we discovered another gem of a location for engagement shoots! Kelso Conservation Area! Ahhhh we are so excited to share the photos!! Marianne and Adam chose Kelso Conservation Area for their fall engagement shoot and wow, was it amazing! We’ve actually shot at Kelso Conservation Area a couple of years back, and while we knew it’s an awesome spot for shoots, we forgot just how awesome it is! Located near Milton, Ontario, the park is huge and is centred around Lake Kelso, where in the summer you can not only swim there, but also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. You can even reserve campsites in the summer months
