Tobermory Engagement Photos
When couples dream of epic engagement photos in Tobermory, they’re usually picturing two things: the turquoise water of Georgian Bay and the dramatic cliffs of Bruce Peninsula National Park. And that’s exactly what Kasia and Kyle had in mind when they reached out.
They’d never been to Tobermory before, but after seeing one of my previous engagement shoots there (shoutout to Carly and Mike 👋), Kasia knew this wild corner of Ontario was exactly what she wanted. The rugged landscape, the views, the water—it was calling to her. Instead of just making it a quick trip, Kasia and Kyle planned a full weekend getaway, checking into a local hotel to soak in all that Tobermory has to offer. (Highly recommend this approach, by the way—Tobermory deserves more than just a few hours.)
Exploring Tobermory Village & Harbor
We kicked things off in Tobermory village, wandering the docks, taking in the boats, and getting that small-town-on-the-edge-of-the-world vibe. While we didn’t get the lucky boat access we had on a previous session, we did get something even better—perfect weather. Bright sun, a deep blue sky, and just enough wind to keep things interesting. The water in the harbor looked like ink, deep and dramatic. A perfect start.
Bruce Peninsula Engagement Adventure Begins
From there, we made our way to Bruce Peninsula National Park, home of the iconic Grotto. If you’re planning an engagement shoot here, know this: it’s a hike. And not the kind you do in heels. We started off on the forest trails, light pouring through the trees like something out of a movie. Then came the rocky terrain—less walking path, more full-on scramble. And yes, Kasia was doing it all in sandals. Total trooper. We thought we were near the Grotto… but not quite. Still, every detour gave us another stunning view, and we made the most of the rocky cliffs and dramatic shoreline.
Finding the Perfect Sunset Spot
Once we got to the Grotto, it was packed with families. Since it was peak pandemic and the vibe wasn’t quite right, we decided to pivot—and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. Just a short walk away, we found a quiet cliffside overlooking Georgian Bay, and it felt like our own private lookout. No crowds. Just blue water, golden light, and two people fully in love. This is where the magic really happened. Kasia and Kyle leaned into the moment, cozying up as the sun began to dip. That soft golden light? Unreal. The kind of light that makes photographers freak out a little (in the best way).
Sunset at the Grotto: Worth the Wait
On our way back, we stopped at the Grotto once more—and this time, it was empty. The sun was nearly gone, casting the Grotto in that last bit of golden glow. We quickly snapped a few more portraits on the cliffs, racing the fading light and soaking in every last second. It was the perfect end to an adventurous engagement shoot in one of Ontario’s most jaw-dropping locations.

Here are a few quick tips:
Make a weekend out of it. You’ll want time to explore and unwind.
Wear solid, comfortable shoes for the rocky areas.
Pack layers—the weather changes fast.
And plan for sunset. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
Kasia & Kyle, thank you for going all in—from the docks to the cliffs to the Grotto at golden hour. Your energy, your love, and your willingness to hike in sandals made this session unforgettable 💛

I gotta be honest, Diego and I are a bit of weirdos. We love us a bit of rain and drizzle for engagement shoots. It gives the engagement photos this ethereal feel, an added charm. Plus we get to play with puddle reflections, which you know we love oh so much! But this year, we’ve had enough! While we normally don’t reschedule engagement shoots because of the rain, this year there have been severe wind and rain storms, which isn’t as charming anymore. So when Tobermory and Bruce Peninsula National Park were chosen as the location for Carly and Mike’s engagement shoot
Oh how we missed shooting! How we missed meeting our couples! It’s so good to be back, and there was no better way to restart the wedding season than with a romantic Prince Edward County engagement shoot featuring the cutest couple, Emily and Jon. It’s always a little funny to me when we first meet a couple and we hear one of them apologize in advance because they are “awkward” in front of the camera. Yep, it always takes a couple of moments to get used to the camera and to us running around you, but that’s all - it never lasts more than that.
This Christmas Eve, Diego and I have been reminiscing about our favorite moments from 2018, and especially today, with this snowy weather outside, one of the engagement shoots that we’ve been reflecting on fondly is the full day engagement shoot we did this summer with Sandra and Anthony in Prince Edward County. The full day engagement shoot we did with Sandra and Anthony was a perfect Sunday Funday.
