Hacienda Sarria
Venue: Hacienda Sarria, Kitchener, Ontario
Walking into Hacienda Sarria in Kitchener, it is easy to forget you are not actually standing in a luxury 5-star European hotel because Hacienda Sarria is unlike any other venue we’ve ever been in – it’s a luxurious Spanish dream. Hacienda Sarria actually used to be a sugar beet mill that was constructed in 1902, and while the mill itself was short lived, the sweetness of the property lives on with each couple that creates their wedding day memories at Hacienda.
Decorated in a lavish old-world Spanish style, it is clear how much thought, love, and care is put into Hacienda to make sure every couple has the most unbelieve experience, and the most amazing wedding photos, of course. It’s a wedding photographer’s dream. Every room we step in is full of drama, full of unique little details that make us oo and awe, full of opportunities to capture phenomenal memories and create beautiful portraits.
Pushing open the large wooden entrance door for the first time, mouths agape with wonder, we step onto the traditional mosaic floors of an elegant lounge space where the warm earthy tones, the vast array of lavish materials and textures, along with cozy couches and natural light flooding send our brains into overdrive as we immediately start imagining the potential for creating dramatic portraits in this imposing space. On our way up to the Suites rooms, we walk past several large black iron gates, their dark and cold rigidity creates the perfect contrast to highlight the beauty of a gently flowing white wedding gown. Upstairs, all the rooms have gorgeous balconies that surround and overlook an indoor courtyard, the pièce de résistance of Hacienda Sarria. It greets you with a flood of natural light beaming down from the 40 ft. ceilings, and in the evening, bistro lights streaming across the room give the space an absolutely magical feel. It’s easy for us to lose track of time in Hacienda Sarria, running from one room to the other, checking out the playful and creative potentials that each balcony view offers and the stunning photo opportunities of the awe-inspiring courtyard.
The magic of Hacienda Sarria doesn’t stop for us inside. The Romeo and Juliet balcony that overlooks the striking fountains and lush gardens is the ideal spot to create fairy tale portrait for our couples, perfectly capturing the essence of Hacienda. Down below on the patio, we follow the path of a centuries old walk called “The Road to Santiago de Compostela”. It leads us around the estate grounds, revealing so many picturesque spots, extraordinary and unique. This is why we adore Haccienda Sarria - we can run around the whole estate, indoors and outdoors, and always find something new, a new opportunity to create a dramatic portrait or capture a candid moment in a stunning setting. Hacienda Sarria is our playground, and we never want to leave.

Imagine standing a top of a mountain peak, surrounded by snow-peaked mountains that appear through occasional breaks in the clouds. The wind is furiously trying to unravel your hair and the cold stings your hands, but none of that matters. You are holding the hands of the love of your life, looking into their tear-filled eyes as they say their vows to you, promising to love you for the rest of their lives.
