Kortright Centre Winter Engagement

Earlier this year, Diego and I exhibited at Canada’s Bridal Show at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. If you haven’t been to the show yet, well, it’s massive!!! There were so many vendors, so many Toronto wedding photographers, and so many couples from all over southern Ontario. It’s hard to imagine how many couples are getting married each year until you exhibit at a show. There was just a constant flow of couples and brides coming through the booth with weddings dates spanning from just a few months from now to all the way to the end of 2020. Wow!

Part of our show special at the Diego Moura Photography booth was an engagement shoot giveaway. With so many brides coming through our booth to chat though, Diego and I did not think it fair to select only 1 winner, so we selected 3 winners! Diana and Alex were one of our lucky couples to have won a free engagement session, and they were so excited to win that we immediately scheduled the shoot and went out for a snow-filled day.

Leading up to the shoot, we weren’t even sure if we would end up having enough snow in the Toronto area and figured we may have to drive up north again in search of snow as we did last year. Luckily, the GTA got a ton of snow in the couple of days leading up to the engagement session and we were able to drive up to Kortright Centre for Conservation in Vaughan for our shoot, where the park was buried in a thick layer of snow, much more than we could have even hoped for! Diana and Alex were troopers and went along with our snow-filled antics. From wading through knee deep snow, only to find out there was an already cleared path we could have used, to multiple attempts of Diana and Alex gracefully throwing snow towards us while we captured them in action and then frantically wiped down our lenses.

By the time we finished the engagement shoot and made our way back out of Kortright Centre of Conservation, our pants were soaked and we could barely move our legs, but Diana and Alex proved that winter engagement shoots are 100% worth it and should not be overlooked. While of course Diana and Alex will have amazingly beautiful pictures from the day, we will all also always have the hilarious memories from our snow-filled-boots winter engagement session! But right now, spring, where are you?!
