Summer Backyard Wedding - Julee & Martin
Summer Backyard Wedding
The sweet backyard wedding of Julee and Martin had Diego and I leave with sore cheeks from all the smiling and laughing, for you see, Julee and Martin have the most infectious smiles and laughs, and absolutely the biggest hearts! When we arrived at the family home to begin capturing their big day, the home was already full with so much love and joy from everyone around them. While Julee was getting all dolled up and ready for her first look with Martin, family and friends were all around helping to finalize and set up all the last minute details for the outdoor backyard ceremony and reception.
Julee looked absolutely radiant from head to toe, from the stunning floral hairclip to the gorgeous floor length wedding gown, yet just as we thought she couldn’t look any more beautiful, Julee lit up with the biggest smile the moment Martin turned around to see her in front of him. From that moment on, those smiles did not leave the faces of Julee and Martin. It was so sweet and heartwarming to watch these two special individuals, with the happiest smiles on their faces, hold hands and declare their love for one another in front of their family and friends. There wasn’t a single guest who wasn’t either crying or laughing during the ceremony.
While Julee and Martin did not initially plan for a portrait session on the day of their wedding as they were worried it would take them away from their guests too much, we managed to sneak them away for a few minutes to capture some portraits of them in front of the home while the guests feasted on a meal of lobster, sushi, BBQ, and so much more mouthwatering food. Once we got back, it was time to pop some bottles, cut the cake, and let the wedding games begin!
If I had to choose just one wedding game to recommend to couples it would definitely have to be the version of musical chairs that Julee and Martin had their guests playing. The guests played two rounds of musical chairs. The first round was just how you would expect musical chairs to be. The the second round got much crazier. Once the music stopped, Martin would call out an object that the participants had to then get from the crowd and bring back to their chairs. Last person to return with the object was out. This version of the game brought out the competitive spirit in the participants, children and adults alike. Elbows may have even been thrown at times. But most importantly, Julee and Martin and all their guests were laughing histerically with each new prompts as players scrambled to collect socks, belts, and other various objects.
Did our cheeks hurt when we left the backyard wedding of Julee and Martin? Oh so much! Was it worth it? Totally worth it! It was a pure delight for Diego and I to capture the special day of such wonderfully joyous people full of so much love for one another. Julee and Martin, thank you and your family and friends for all your warmth and love. We cannot wait to see you both again!
