Best Wedding Photos of 2019

Welp, with the New Year’s Eve wedding of Rosie & Shayne now delivered, our 2019 wedding year is now officially closed. With all the craziness happening around the world right now, there is so much uncertainty for this year ahead of us, but instead of dwelling on the what-ifs, we want to celebrate all our amazing couples who helped us have the best year, all the couples who put their trust in us, and who gave us the space to create and capture stunning memories for them. THANK YOU!

One of the most surreal moments of 2019 was back in February 2019, when Diego and I both received our first award winning photos. We had been submitting our photos for some time at this point, with no luck though. There are so many talented photographers out there in the world, so many creative minds, that we knew it would not be an easy task. Diego and I had been telling one another, that we didn’t care which one of us wins, we just want one of us to win a single award. It would just be so cool! We’d be so proud! And when the moment came, and we realized we BOTH had an award winning photo in the same contest, we completely lost it. We were so excited and so proud of each other. We’ve been pushing ourselves to create more, to capture more, to deliver more. We want to wow our couples with incredible work, and to have 2 of our photos recognized as such by fellow professional wedding photographers, was beyond what we could have asked for. But 2019 had greater plans for us, and we finished off the year with 39 awards between the two of us. WOW!

Our award winning photos wouldn’t have been possible without us pushing each other beyond photographic boundries and beyond our own personal comfort zones. Every wedding, Diego and I repeat our motto to each other: “If you never try, you never know”. We love to try new techniques and to challenge ourselves, but with that also comes a bit of competition. The day after each wedding, Diego and I sift through all the images we’ve captured at the wedding to see who got the winning shot. The teasing can get pretty merciless at times, and now that in 2019 we started to receive award winning photos, the competition got even more intense. At the end of the day though, we don’t care who wins. It really doesn’t matter. Our main goal in submitting our images into competitions isn’t being better than the other, because let’s face it, we wouldn’t be where we are without each other (or our couples), it’s to give us that extra creative push, the drive, to be better and better, and to create something new and unique for every one of our couples. They are the real winners here. We give all of our power and our energy on the day of the wedding so all of our couples can receive the best memories possible, and 2019 proved to be a year full of amazing memories. So without further ado, here are some of our favourites from 2019!
